This caterpillar (Antheraea polyphemus) was named after the Cyclops Polyphemus from Greek Mythology due to its one purple eye-spot after its metamorphosis into a moth. This photo was captured at Sesquicentennial State Park in Columbia, South Carolina.
Rob is a certified photographer based out of Pasadena, Maryland. Rob began his interest as a photographer as a Police Detective with the Hurlock Police Department. He is now retired and enjoys photography and travel. Mae is a student of photography under the tutilage of her husband, Rob. She moved to the US from the Philippines with Rob in 2022.
